Dedication
For the addict who still suffers, in and out of these rooms.
We propose that any action that activates the Ventral Vagal Branch of the Parasympathetic Nervous System of the Autonomic Nervous System will support recovery from addictions and provide examples of current well-accepted addiction recovery medoods which have already been proven to support recovery from addictions. We also suggest other methods of activating the Parasympathetic Nervous System.
Background
Mudie (in prep a.) observed that recovery in Alcoholic Anonymous resulted in a Rebalance of the Autonomic Nervous System.
Later Mudie(in prep b) observed that different methods of recovery of addictions all seemed to result in an activation of the PSNS .
Discussion
In this paper we propose that ANY method of activation of PSNS will support recovery from ANY addiction. In addition, Litle known methods of PSNS activation will most probably be found to be useful in supporting recovery from addictions
